Teen Gothic

With the OG punks they used pva glue and gel but what did the OG goths use. They most likely used hairspray and an old comb right? I feel like there must've been more primitive ways. I'm asking because hairspray doesn't really work with my hair.

I hope this doesn't get taken down due to the mentioning of race :[ but i'm a romantic goth and have identified as such for about a year, but i now have the means to buy more accessories.

I want to preserve my culture (i.e. still wear hoops but integrate it into the romantic goth style) but I'd also want to achieve the romantic goth look as well.

^{^} side note: i do actively listen to the music, but this post is primarily about style. im being super precautious as i haven't posted on this subreddit before and i dont want to unintentionally violate any rules.

can someone pls tell me how siouxsie did her hair? i literally cant find any videos about it and my friend told me to ask here. any help is greatly appreciated, thank you 😀
